Metal-gratings or concrete slabs are normally used for vehicular performance. Concrete slabs are unable to have sufficient waterway, which defeats the main purpose of having gratings in the channel drainage system. (According to EN124.1994 Standard on Hydraulic Capacity, the waterway area shall not be less than 30% of the clear area.) Besides having high maintenance cost for metalgratings, it also poses a problem when unbearable clanging sounds are caused when a vehicle crosses over them. Unlike natural stones or cementitius materials, JONITE is resistant to oil and grease disposed from the parked vehicles, making it the ideal choice.
