Introducing our Eden sump covers. Ideal for green pedestrianised areas such as parks or sidewalks, or for adding softness to inner city parking zones.

Made using 95% natural aggregates and reinforced with a treated steel frame, these storm drain grates have the same load-bearing capabilities and rust-resistant properties you’d expect from an engineered stone sump hole cover, but with delicate design details that give a nod to the beauty of nature. These sump covers were designed as part of our collaboration with the award-winning, visionary design studio, Rudolph Schelling Webermann (RSW©).

Composition

<1% crystalline silica

Our composite blend substitutes materials such as quartz with safer alternatives. All of our engineered stone sump covers now contain less than 1% silica and have been approved for use in Australia.

95% natural aggregates

Each sump cover is made with a minimum of 95% natural aggregates and only 5% hybrid polymers. This creates a product that’s more sustainable, with a more natural appearance and a durable finish.

30% recycled materials

All our sump covers contain a minimum of 30% recycled materials. Any excess stone and steel that doesn’t meet our high manufacturing standards is repurposed as raw material for future projects.

Reinforced with steel frames

By reinforcing our sump covers with treated steel frames, we achieve the same strength as cast iron alternatives. Plus, by reducing steel usage by 80% in our production process, we’ve cut our carbon footprint by 16 times.

All the materials in our grating products meet the latest global safety standards. This includes the new legislation that applies to products containing crystalline silica.

Rust + corrosion proof

The rust-resistant, anti-fade properties that come with engineered stonework mean our decorative sump hole covers are designed to last a lifetime.

Low heat absorbency

Jonite sump hole covers absorb less heat than traditional metal and cast iron grates, helping to combat the effects of urban warming in cities with hotter climates.

Cost-effective + scalable

Our maintenance hole covers come in a range of standard sizes—and can be interlocked together to cover larger surface areas using metal sub-frames and our purpose-built splines.
