01 / General
-
All our decorative breeze blocks come in a choice of standard styles, colours and textures. Plus, you can customise our breeze blocks further and collaborate with us to create something totally bespoke. To find out more about custom breeze blocks, visit our custom solutions page or get in touch.
-
Absolutely, we are capable of tailoring a breeze block to match your unique needs and vision. In fact, because our breeze blocks are less reliant on load requirements when compared to our other decorative grating, there’s even more flexibility when it comes to customisation.
-
Regular concrete blocks are usually found in raw concrete colours, and coloured variations often look synthetic. Plus, because Jonite breeze blocks have an exceptionally low water absorption capacity and self-cleaning capabilities, they are far more durable than traditional concrete blocks—and stronger, too.
-
These modern breeze blocks are versatile enough for both residential and commercial projects, including exterior applications. They are engineered to withstand high levels of UV exposure, rain, and temperature fluctuations without deteriorating, making them a great choice for all kinds of facades, partitions, and other architectural features.
-
Our engineered stone breeze blocks are great for facades. For facades over 2 metres, we recommend consulting with a structural engineer who can advise on local building regulations, supporting frames and rebar reinforcements.
-
Jonite breeze blocks have passed the BS 476 Part 7: 1997 fire test with a Class 1 Surface Spread of Flame rating. This indicates that, compared to traditional materials, these modern breeze blocks have a minimal tendency to support the spread of flame across their surface, making them a safer choice for projects where fire safety is a concern.
-
Just like traditional concrete blocks, our breeze blocks can be stacked and interlocked to create a range of designs. For more complex projects or large-scale installations, we recommend working with an experienced contractor. However, we can also provide detailed installation guides and in-depth consultation services.
-
The non-porous surface of our engineered stone breeze blocks is designed to resist dirt and stains. Whether they’re indoors or outside, simply clean them with mild soap and water when necessary to keep them looking their best.
-
We’re committed to building better places for people and our planet. We manage our energy, water, and waste with the future in mind. We also use at least 30% recycled aggregates in our stone grating products, which reduces carbon emissions by up to 80%. All our decorative grating is Singapore Green Building Product (SGBP) certified (4 ticks, leader). This means when you choose our breeze blocks, you can score additional points under the Functional Systems Criteria (Flooring, Ceiling, Roof, External Wall, Internal Wall and Door systems) and/or Singular Sustainable Products outside of Functional Systems Criteria.

04 / Installation + maintenance
-
We recommend following the specific installation guidelines provided with each Jonite product to ensure optimal performance and durability. For best results, please refer to the installation guide provided with your product or consult our team for additional guidance on custom installations.
-
Yes, Jonite products can be installed by a general contractor. However, for complex or customised installations, we recommend working with contractors who have experience with architectural stone or composite materials. We also offer additional consultation services for installation support.
-
All our grating products are designed for easy maintenance. We recommend regularly cleaning with mild soap and water to remove dirt and debris while avoiding harsh chemicals that could damage the composite surface. Periodic inspections to check for buildup in drainage openings will help maintain optimal performance. For more detailed maintenance instructions, please consult our maintenance guide.
-
We do not recommend cutting Jonite grates, as this may compromise the internal reinforcements. However, certain pieces, such as blank-ends and grate-tiles, are specifically designed to be cut to fit odd ends and angles. For the best results, we recommend consulting with a professional installer.
