Traverse Collection

Timeless design meets maximum durability. Suited to everything from pedestrianised areas to heavy-duty D400 zones, trench grate covers don’t get much more versatile than this.

Use the Traverse trench grate’s straight-line design to add clean-cut edging into urban areas—or, simply rotate to create stand-out patterns in an instant. With a high-performance, anti-slip surface, the entire collection is approved for a range of load classes—plus, it’s ideal for spaces with strict BFA (barrier-free access) requirements. These trench grate covers were designed as part of our collaboration with the award-winning, visionary design studio, Rudolph Schelling Webermann (RSW©).

Composition

<1% crystalline silica

Our composite mix replaces substances like quartz with safer raw materials. All our engineered stone trench grates now feature less than 1% silica and are approved for use in Australia. 

95% natural aggregates

All our trench grate covers are crafted using at least 95% natural aggregates and just 5% hybrid polymers. The result: a more sustainable product—and a more natural-looking, long-lasting finish.

30% recycled materials

Every Jonite trench grate cover is made using at least 30% recycled materials. Any surplus stone and steel that doesn’t meet our strict manufacturing standards is reused as raw materials in future projects.

Reinforced with steel frames

Reinforcing our stone grating with treated steel frames makes them just as strong as cast iron alternatives. And by using 80% less steel in our manufacturing, we’ve lowered our carbon footprint by 16x.

Approved worldwide

All the materials in our grating products meet the latest global safety standards. This includes the new legislation that applies to products containing crystalline silica.

Made from natural materials chosen for their load-bearing qualities, our decorative grating is built to withstand high levels of traffic, whether it be pedestrians or HGVs.

Low heat absorbency

Jonite trench grate covers absorb less heat than traditional metal and cast iron gratings, making them safe for indoor areas and children’s playgrounds.

Non-slip surface

The naturally matte, slip-resistant surface of our commercial trench grates meets the international safety classifications required for schools and hospitals.

Rust + corrosion proof

The rust-resistant, anti-fade properties that come with engineered stonework mean our decorative trench drain covers are designed to last—both indoors and out.

A-rated electrical insulation

Our engineered stone outdoor drain grates have the same dielectric properties as porcelain, so are ideal for towns and cities prone to tropical thunderstorms.
